Reminder – Local Demand Set
In August of this year, Local Executive Committee’s (LEC) that have Unified Members received email notice of the Local Demand Set meetings needing to be set. That communication can be found here.
As outlined in the OPS Unified Bargaining procedures (3.2), locals are asked to meet to determine the top 10 priorities for their local.
In order to ensure a strong collective voice at the local level, locals will be required to plan a General Membership Meeting (GMM), and it is important to remind everyone that quorum is required for this meeting. Your local staff rep should be invited to attend this meeting to assist in collecting and submitting the locals demands.
The OPS Unified Bargaining Team will be accepting Local Demands until October 13, 2026 (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving).
To assist locals in determining what the original demand set survey included, there is a detailed list of demands to choose from, in both English and French that has been sent to each ACG Chat and is linked below.

FXT and Seasonal Working Group Elections
The Area Coordinating Groups (ACGs) will be holding elections to select one Fixed Term (FXT) member and one Seasonal member from each region to form the FXT and Seasonal Working Group.
The FXT and Seasonal Working Group is established through our Bargaining Procedures. The group would traditionally consist of FXT and Seasonal Delegates who attended the Regional Bargaining Conferences. However, many of those members have since moved into permanent positions, taken on other roles, or left the OPS.
As members of the Working Group must be elected, the Bargaining Team has requested that ACGs hold elections to fill these positions. We are hoping to have all members elected by the end of October.
To stand for election, you must currently be an FXT or Seasonal member. This is a voluntary position, and meetings will be held virtually with the FXT/Seasonal representative on the bargaining team.
