September 25 is Franco-Ontarian Day. It’s an important opportunity to recognize the francophone community’s cultural, social and economic contributions. It also celebrates the important role that francophones have played for centuries in shaping Ontario as a diverse and inclusive place to live, work and raise a family.
We’re proud of the contributions that OPSEU/SEFPO’s francophone members continue to make in our communities, our province and our union. From fighting to ensure francophone rights are respected in our workplaces to supporting community efforts, such as the fight to save francophone programs at Laurentian University, we recognize the importance and value of a thriving francophone community and culture.
OPSEU/SEFPO’s Provincial Francophone Committee has been working diligently to connect with francophone and francophile members across the province. They ensure that the needs of our members are met in our ever-changing workplaces and communities.
To honour this vibrant culture and all that it has to offer, OPSEU/SEFPO’s Provincial Francophone Committee invites you and your family to a series of entertaining evenings featuring humour, songs and storytelling. These free events are open to all OPSEU/SEFPO members. For more information, please visit OPSEU/SEFPO’S Francophone Family Nights webpage.
To everyone celebrating today: bravo, merci et bonne journée des Franco-Ontariens et des Franco-Ontariennes!
In solidarity,
