A new chapter begins at North York General Hospital! Laboratory Technicians at the hospital have voted strongly in favour of joining OPSEU/SEFPO!
OPSEU/SEFPO is honoured to now represent almost 70 Laboratory Technicians who chose to stand together in solidarity. It ensures that the professionals who deliver exceptional care to more than 500,000 patients each year now have an equal voice in shaping their own workplace and future.
“After years of increasing workloads, inconsistent working conditions, and limited opportunities to influence decisions affecting their jobs, the Laboratory Technicians at North York General Hospital chose a different path,” said OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick. “Their achievement is not only a victory for today’s Technicians, but a lasting investment in every future Technician who will walk through the hospital’s doors.”
Medical laboratory professionals were among the first workers outside of the Ontario Public Service to join OPSEU/SEPFO. For more than four decades, OPSEU/SEPFO has proudly represented medical laboratory workers, recognizing that without medical laboratory professionals, Ontario’s hospitals would not function.
