Pride Toronto, in partnership with the European Union (EU), CUPE/SCFP, Maple Leaf Pharmacy, Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), and Dignity Network presents Tapestry 2026: Human Rights Roundtable
The Human Rights Roundtable will address the current challenges facing the 2SLGBTQI+ community, the celebration of this year’s milestones and the work that still needs to be done. In line with the 2026 Pride theme, “We Won’t Stop”. The discussion will cover critical human rights issues, including:
- Rights, Advocacy, and Social Change: Explore the evolving landscape of human rights, inclusion, and community advocacy through discussions on legislative changes, trans rights, labour movements, international human rights defenders, and civil society perspectives. Conversations will focus on collective action, policy impacts, and strengthening community-led responses.
- Health, Well-Being, and Accessibility: Examine the intersections of health, housing, affordability, and accessibility within 2SLGBTQI+ communities. Topics include HIV and the queer community, inclusive sports and recreation, rural access to services, and the barriers communities face in accessing equitable health and housing support.
- Community, Identity, and Belonging: Focus on building meaningful connections across generations, identities, and lived experiences. Discussions will center on faith and freedom, youth and community-building, intergenerational relationships, and the importance of creating spaces that foster belonging, understanding, and collective growth.
The roundtable will foster open dialogue and actionable solutions to strengthen the global fight for equality and justice for the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
