OPSEU/SEFPO’s Coalition of Racialized Workers (CoRW) is excited for another year to have the opportunity to participate and play mas at this year’s Junior Carnival in Scarborough!
CoRW is pleased to announce that this year, we have partnered with Nsoromma Design & Culture Group Inc. to present a Kiddies section with Saldenah Carnival for 2026 and provide 60 children of OPSEU/SEFPO members for free costume!
This year’s annual Junior Carnival and Family Fun Parade will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18, 2026. This will be great fun for all ages, so come out with your family and enjoy the many traditions of this festival.
We invite Black and racialized OPSEU/SEFPO members who have a child under 16 and who would like to be considered for free costume to apply using the form below.
Please note given the limited spots, we can only offer 1 costume per selected member. In addition, the child must be a direct dependent of the OPSEU/SEFPO member. The parent/guardian/caregiver is required to accompany the registered child for the duration of the parade on Saturday, July 18.
The Junior Carnival (Kiddies) and Family Day event provides its families and the surrounding community of Malvern the opportunity to experience the cultural presentation of young performers as they participate in their earlier years.
A few spots still available! Deadline to apply is May 31 at 5p.m. Selected members will be contacted by the Member Equity Unit and provided additional details regarding the Costume/Band Launch and location.
