EDT Week brings together new equity committee/caucus reps in an orientation style training with Education and Equity Unit staff. It’s to help prepare equity reps for their role within their respective groups. The first EDT week in 2023 will include all committee/caucus reps. Trainings for the subsequent years will only be for new equity reps. Some members may be well-versed in the training concepts, while others will have never participated in an in-depth conversation about leadership, harassment and discrimination, race, communication, or other sides of the union before. This training will help all of the eight committees and caucus reps stay on the same page, and should create a shared language, especially around themes of equity, harassment and discrimination, and communication. All participants will leave feeling more confident with their roles as committee/caucus members.

OPSEU/SEFPO Child Care Policy
OPSEU/SEFPO undertakes to provide child care services, when requested, at all union educationals, conventions, regional, divisional and demand-setting meetings where the membership requests at least three weeks prior to the event. Members who bring their children to OPSEU/SEFPO sponsored functions should normally be required to use the on-site child care service if it is available. The three week notice will ensure adequate time to process advances when requested. If no requests for on-site child care are received three weeks prior to the activity date, child care arrangements for on-site child care may not be made. If members then bring children to the event without the required notice, the member should be responsible for making his/her own child care arrangements.
