Just ten days after reaching an agreement to end the strike at Community Living Oakville, management is laying off 17 frontline staff.
This is a shameful attack on dedicated care and support workers following a legal strike. Executive Director Alexandra Hoeck Murray is treating dedicated care and support workers as disposable at a time when workers are focused on getting back to work and the people they support.
Tell Executive Director Alexandra Hoeck Murray: stop the layoffs now and respect the frontline workers who keep Community Living Oakville running.
Join the solidarity rally on Wednesday, October 14 from 4-6 pm in Oakville.
Wednesday, October 14
4:00 to 6:00 pm
Gatesbury Park, 28 Niska Dr, Waterdown
After 20 weeks on the picket line, developmental services workers have made it clear: their work matters – they matter – and they will not stop fighting for the fairness and respect for the frontline. They will use that solidarity to fight back against these layoffs with the rest of OPSEU/SEFPO behind them.
