In October 2026, 19 OPSEU/SEFPO members from Region 5 (Toronto) completed Train the Trainer, an in-depth course that prepares members to co-facilitate OPSEU/SEFPO regional educational training courses.
Region 5 Vice-President Coleen Houlder dropped by on the first day with words of encouragement and T-shirts for the members as they began the course.
Over four days, Train the Trainer participants are introduced to the theory and practice of popular education used at OPSEU/SEFPO, learn effective and engaging co-facilitation techniques, and have opportunities to practice their co-facilitation skills with their peers. The course is facilitated by OPSEU/SEFPO Education Officers.
Congratulations to Region 5’s newest trained co-facilitators!

Participants worked together to build towers that would support a potato-sized stone. OPSEU/SEFPO member facilitators rock! (Groan.)
