Since 2025, power has been building across the Broader Public Sector through the Worth Fighting For coordinated bargaining campaign. The goal of the campaign is to achieve funded wage increases to catch up to what other public workers achieved as Bill 124 remedy. As we bring “Phase 2” units into the campaign, we are recruiting new member mobilizers!
The Worth Fighting For campaign is coordinated by the BPS Working Group, which includes the following sectors: Developmental Services, Children’s Aid Societies, Community Agencies, BPS Corrections, Universities, Children’s Treatment, Community Health Care Professionals, and Mental Health and Addictions.
To build bargaining power to achieve this wage and funding increase, the BPS Working Group will book off member organizers to engage with members in the above noted sectors. They will join “Phase 1” mobilizers as we look to build power from the ground up for Phase 2 Units involved in the Worth Fighting For campaign.
Member organizers on book-offs will be part of a central mobilizing committee along with the BPS Working Group and assigned OPSEU/SEFPO staff. Together, they will develop strategic objectives to support a centralized bargaining process.
