A newsletter for OPSEU/SEFPO members working in Sector 19: Blood Services and Diagnostics.
It has been a busy year! Your Sector 19 Division Executive has taken the lead in many events and showed up to support our union siblings within our own Sector, as well as other Sectors and Regions.
From the anti-paid plasma campaign fighting back against the unethical purchasing and sale of Ontarians’ plasma, to closures and cuts in our Public Health Ontario (PHO) labs, to the cutbacks and unfair treatment of our LifeLabs members, we were there.
We picketed on Grifol’s doorsteps in Hamilton and Whitby, held information rallies in our locals from Brampton to Ottawa, walked the picket lines in solidarity with our CAAT S-FT family in Thunder Bay, and supported our many units currently in bargaining. And, you know what? This fight is not over!
We will continue to stand up against shameful employers, and as we do so we will continue to lean on our OPSEU/SEFPO family for support and have them lean on us. We will also continue to fight back against the privatization of our public services, the unsafe working conditions our members face, and the constant battle for fair and decent collective agreements.
We thank you all for putting your trust in us, your Sector19 Division Executive, to be your voice, and for allowing us to stand on your behalf to represent our family in Sector 19. We are here for you! We are all OPSEU/SEFPO, and in solidarity we will keep fighting for better!
As we gear up for this work ahead, your Sector 19 Division Executive is excited to announce that we will be developing a new Blood Services and Diagnostics logo that reflects who we are and what we are building. And we want members to be at the heart of the process!
Stay tuned for updates! We will be launching a Logo Feedback Form in the coming weeks where members can submit their ideas.
