As people settle back into their post-holiday routines, it is important to remember that helping those in need and the "season of giving" is not specific to a certain time of the year. In addition to a monetary donation, Region 4 PYC representative Elie Labaky donated over 40 toques to the Ottawa Youth Services Bureau Charitable Foundation (YSB). This was done in order to help local youth keep warm this winter. The YSB has been serving the Ottawa youth community since 1960. It offers a variety of services which range from, but are not limited to: employment, community housing, justice and mental health. The YSB aims to guide youth by supporting, listening and providing a safe place to those who reach out for help. This invaluable service could not run smoothly without the help and support of the 350 caring staff members who work in varying capacities at the 20 locations spread out across the region. In the coming months, Elie Labaky will work towards creating a partnership with YSB in support of the services it provides. The main objective would be to facilitate the growth and development of youth in local communities.
