Further to our last update we shared on February 7, 2026, your bargaining team is writing to provide an update on the status of our Interest Arbitration Award.
We had originally anticipated that our award would be available in April and/or May. Although the weather hasn’t cooperated this Spring and it doesn’t quite feel like April, it is hard to believe that May is around the corner.
We have reached out to our Union nominee for an update as we have been getting lots of questions from members about when the award will be issued. It is expected that the award should be available in the coming weeks.
We must remember that we put forward a complex set of arguments to the Arbitrator for review. Our arbitration brief included not only wage proposals, but also encompassed proposals to improve the entire Collective Agreement.
Once the award is received, another update with a Summary of the Award and a copy of the Award will be distributed for all members to read.
Rest assured that once we get our award we will get right back into bargaining and will follow our Negotiation Procedures to prepare for the next round.
