Please hold the dates of October 9 and 10 for our fall lobby day at Queen’s Park. On October 9, participants are expected to attend an evening lobby training session. Participants will then spend the entire day at Queen’s Park on October 10, visiting with their MPPs and demanding action to improve workplace health and safety.
While OPSEU central will be covering the costs for two representatives from each bargaining unit to attend (highest ranking/local president), the lobby day is open to all members interested in attending.

The Mental Health Division’s provincial workplace health and safety tour is now well underway, but we haven’t visited everyone just yet!
Since Mental Health Awareness Week in early May, MHD Executive member Carol Mundley has been visiting bargaining units across OPSEU’s seven regions, and continues to arrange new local meetings each week.
Carol’s on a mission to visit and connect-in with all 32 bargaining units in the Mental Health Division, but she needs your help to schedule these meetings ASAP!
The meetings could include LEC members, highest ranking, local presidents, stewards, Joint Health and Safety Committee co-chairs, and other local "leaders" (this is at your discretion).
The meetings are an opportunity to:
- Share important campaign dates and materials (including the petition and sample letter which can be found here);
- Listen and get a better sense of your main issues/concerns on the ground;
- Drum up support for the Mental Health Division’s October 10 lobby at Queen’s Park (more details below).
These local meetings can be informal lunch and learns, evening gatherings on-site or off site, meetings that are already scheduled (Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings etc.), or whatever format works best for your local!
