Your OPS Unified Bargaining Team is excited to open applications for our next round of mobilizing. We are looking for 10 dedicated members to make a difference as we build bargaining power in 2026.
For decades, successive governments have underfunded and eroded public services. resulting in staffing reductions, recruitment and retention challenges, heavier workloads, and increased privatization. Together, these pressures are meant to weaken our collective power and public sector services.
That’s why we need mobilizers.
By organizing and engaging members in our workplaces and locals we are building relationships, power and the ability to fight back collectively.
We are looking for members who are passionate about defending workers’ rights and building power between workers. You will be supporting and mentoring other leaders, building capacity, networks, and structure where needed.
You will be required to engage with many different people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Mobilizing will involve working independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
Regular use of the computer and different software programs are required.
Mobilizers require the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when members are usually available. Keeping track of work, pacing yourself and taking time to recharge are important parts of this work.
Your role will be to support the bargaining team by building power, and keeping the membership focused on fighting the problem, the Ford government. The Government wants to divide workers by pitting us against one another. It’s time to stay focused on fighting for a fair contract and better public services! When we fight, we win!
Consider applying to be one of our 10 OPS Unified mobilizers. We will be selecting 1 mobilizer per region and 3 mobilizers at large. Click here to learn more about the role and submit your application. Applications close Monday, July 13, 2026, at 12pm.
