On August 11 the members of Local 357 rejected a tentative agreement that had been reached with Community Living Huronia. Sixty-six per cent of the members voted no. Following the vote the Employer told the Conciliator that it would not return to the table with anything new. The Local is preparing for a strike. To avert the strike the Employer must return to the table and be willing to negotiate. The issues that the Local would like to see addressed include an additional float day and sick leave for part-time members.
