Dear Members of the CAAT (A) Bargaining Team and Members:
On behalf of the Sector 9 Universities Sector Division and Executive we are writing to express our strongest support to the College Faculty bargaining team and striking faculty members.
The Universities Executive Division were in attendance at your recent November 7, 2017 press conference. We were shocked to hear of the outrageous actions of the College Council to not continue talks at the bargaining table and forcing your members into an extended and unnecessary vote while undermining the provisions you had already negotiated.
Your willingness to continue dialogue and transparent approach will effectively serve your 12,000 members across the province as well as the 500,000 students. We recognize your efforts to channel your resources and exhaust all avenues in your attempt to reach a genuine bargaining deal. Your commitment to perseverance and achieving true and genuine results in the face of tremendous obstacles will not go unnoticed.
OPSEU Sector 9 represents a wide variety of occupational groups at select post-secondary campuses in Ontario including support staff, special constables, faculty, librarians, teachers, models, cleaning staff, custodians, food service workers, technicians and technologists.
