OPSEU/SEFPO’s Coalition of Racialized Workers (CoRW) is inviting you to celebrate with us Black History Month (BLM). This year’s theme is ‘Who We Are’ and it truly captures the activism and impact that CoRW continues to have in our Union.
For over fifteen years, CoRW has been at the forefront of bringing equity issues to focus, which includes the importance of embedding equity in all of the union’s campaigns, organizing and community outreach. One of our most fundamental goals and activities over the years has been the OPSEU/SEFPO Social Mapping Project (SMP) and implementing its recommendations. SMP has identified gaps where there is poor or no representation of equity seeking groups at all levels of the organization, particularly for Black, Indigenous, and racialized members. CoRW works tirelessly to create spaces for all equity seeking groups in large part because of the gains made by SMP.
Join members of CoRW in celebrating our wins and moving towards the future which includes electing and mobilizing Black, Indigenous, and racialized members into positions of influence, power, and authority in OPSEU/SEFPO. Only when you know who we are, can we truly achieve Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in our Union.
