More than 800 OPSEU/SEFPO members working in the Broader Public Service (BPS) were in attendance at day one of the hybrid 2025 BPS Conference and Divisional Meetings today, which runs until Sunday afternoon.
This year’s conference brought participants together for the theme “Empowering Workers to Stand Together” – uniting OPSEU/SEFPO members across sectors and workplaces in our joint goals, principles and vision for a better Ontario.
Insightful guest speakers – Austin Holmes from Feed Ontario, Joanna Johnson, and Tischa Forster and Michelle English from OPSEU/SEFPO’s Mental Health and Addictions Sector – presented throughout the day. Speakers discussed the current political, social and economic climate affecting Ontario’s Broader Public Services.
Participants included Sector and Local leaders from across the province working in the Broader Public Service – representing more than 130,000 OPSEU/SEFPO members.
The weekend will continue with the Community Services Divisional Council (CSDC) plenary, Health Care Divisional Council (HCDC) plenary, and Sector Meetings on Saturday and Sunday, where elections will be held for each Sector’s executive.
Keep an eye on this post on Sunday night for election results!
