For a difficult and transformative month, we have held the line for the future of our work and the future of student support.
As a division, our groundbreaking organizing has been raising the bar across the province. We’ve beat back concessions and made critical gains on language we did not see movement on until we went on strike.
Yesterday, we invited the employer back to the table. The College Employer Council (CEC) responded today, at 5:18 p.m., and offered mediation with William Kaplan. Mediation will resume tomorrow, Saturday, October 11.
As a mediator with extensive experience in the post-secondary sector, we hope Kaplan can assist the parties in closing the gap on the few remaining unresolved items.
We will relay updates as soon as possible. If you do not hear from us this weekend, please assume negotiations are ongoing.
Unless otherwise communicated, we remain on strike.
In any event, we hope that all members can spend some dedicated time with their loved ones this long weekend.
Solidarity,
