Your College Faculty Part-Time and Sessional Bargaining Team met for the second day of negotiations with the College Employer Council (CEC) today.
The parties continued negotiations today, including discussing ground rules.
Yesterday, your bargaining team was joined by representatives from all four college divisions to highlight the impact of the lack of transparency on past and present negotiations. This afternoon, the CEC confirmed that they will not address any of those impacts at the table.
We disagree with their decision, as challenges around disclosure from previous bargaining rounds continue to have impacts on our own bargaining. For example, we are still waiting on outstanding disclosure of information essential to good faith bargaining, including current rates of pay, step distribution, and wage grids, as well as college efficiency reviews.
We look forward to the CEC’s fulsome response to our continued requests for disclosure and the Unfair Labour Practice (ULP) filed by OPSEU/SEFPO around the employer’s failure to notify the union of the planned merger between Fleming College and St. Lawrence College.
Our confirmed next bargaining dates are as follows:
- May 27, 2026
- June 2, 2026
- August 19, 2026
Additional dates are being explored pending both sides’ availability, given the nature of part-time and sessional faculty scheduling.
