Your bargaining team is pleased to report that we received Arbitrator Lindsey Lawrence’s decision on November 19, 2025, and can now share the details of the award. Thank you for your patience and solidarity throughout this process!This Award applies to members working in CBS Support Locals 160, 200, 210, 477, and 5103. Below is the summary of the Award and all agreed-to items.
Summary of the Award
Term- April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2025
Wage Increases- Across the board increases of 3%, effective April 1, 2023;
- Across the board increases of 3%, effective April 1, 2024;
- Retroactive payments issued by December 19, 2025.
Wage Grid Adjustment- Effective November 19, 2025, removal of the “initial” step in the wage grid for all classifications;
- The 1 year step will then become the initial step, the 2 year step will become the 1-year step, and so forth.
Premium Increases- Weekend premium increase by 41 cents: from $2.73 to $3.14, retroactive to April 1, 2023;
- Evening premium increase by 62 cents: from $1.64 to $2.26, retroactive to April 1, 2023;
- Effective November 19, 2025, On Call Pay increase by 55 cents from $2.75 to $3.30 per hour Monday to Saturday;
- Effective November 19, 2025, On Call Pay increase by $1.65—one dollar and sixty-five cents—from $3.25 to $4.90 per hour on Sundays and designated Paid Holidays;
- Effective November 19, 2025, On-the-Job Trainers premium increase by 50 cents from $1.00 to $1.50 per hour.
Allowances- Effective November 19, 2025, Lunch allowance increases by $1.00—one dollar—from $11.00 to $12.00;
- Uniform and Safety Shoe allowance is now taxable (appears on T-4 as required by Canada Revenue Agency).
New Letters of Agreement- Joint Job Evaluation (Donor Care Associate, Lab Assistant, Logistics Attendant, Shipper Receiver I & II, Clerk). No pay reductions, completion target: 12 months post-ratification;
- Third Party Service Providers: Employer & Union to meet within 6 months to discuss usage.
Scheduling- Extra hours offered equitably to regular part-time employees first;
- Clear seniority-based distribution for available shifts.
Summary of Agreed-To Items:
Housekeeping Changes- Correct indentations, spacing, and minor updates throughout the Collective Agreement;
- Gender-neutral terminology review (e.g., parental leave replaces adoption leave) Bereavement Leave (parent, sibling, parent-in-law, sibling-in-law);
- Add missing title to LOA: Joint Workplace Training – Respect and Harassment.
Wages & Retroactivity:- Employees on staff at signing receive retroactive pay per Schedule A;
- Retroactive wages for employees who left between April 1, 2023, and signing date (except those discharged for cause).
Position Descriptions:- Add Logistics Attendant job description
Letters of Understanding Renewed:- Leave Provisions for Permanent Full-Time Employees, Requesting Days Off, 1990 Note, Future Plasma Sites, Future Manufacturing and Production Sites, Scheduling Discussion, Full-Time Positions, Joint Workplace Training, Five Full-Time DCA jobs within the area covered by Local 5103, Grievance Process, Universal Benefits Plan.
Deleted LOA:- Joint Job Evaluation – Donor Services Representative.
Meal Periods (Article 12.01):- Updated lunch/dinner time windows for clinic staff.
Days Off (Article 12.03):- Article 12.03 b) ii) and iv) inserted “X” day and “Free day.”
Overtime (Article 12.05):- Employees may bank up to 37.5 hours of overtime (previously 22.5).
Temporary Transfers (Article 16.03):- Premium for directing/overseeing work increased to $1.50/hr (from $0.90).
