OPSEU/SEFPO Sector 3 is calling out for full-time book offs (released from your regular work duties with pay) to participate in a campaign to engage members in our sector as we move into central bargaining with our own independent OPSEU/SEFPO bargaining table.
Together, we can work to build our voices, join together to be strong, and fight alongside our education partners to make sure we get a fair contract!
Now is the time to come together as education workers and unions across the province. This round of bargaining we need to build peak power to fight for a fair agreement and to defend our publicly funded education system.
Government underfunding is creating a crisis in our schools.
The applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis starting on June 22 and continuing until the roles are filled. The seven mobilizer positions are only open to S3 Boards of Education Workers.
Please complete the application questionnaire at the following link: Sector 3 – Boards of Education Worker Power Campaign Application – Fill out form
Please contact [email protected] if you have questions.
The hard work of OPSEU/SEFPO members in Sector 3 Boards of Education needs to continue to be recognized and strengthened as we move into 2026 central bargaining, On August 31, 2026, our central collective agreement expires. OPSEU/SEFPO and other education unions requested that the government start negotiating before the summer which resulted in no response. On June 3, all education unions filed notice to bargain with the provincial government.
OPSEU/SEFPO has called on the Ministry of Education and school boards to provide funding to prioritize EA and support staff recruitment and retention strategies, including enhanced training, injury prevention, improved wages and workload management.
Education workers across the province are demanding increased funding to hire more education workers and ensure that students have the supports they need to succeed.
For the first time ever, OPSEU/SEFPO Sector 3 is calling out for seven full-time book offs (released from your regular work duties with pay) to participate in a bargaining campaign to engage with members in the 15 OPSEU/SEFPO boards of education locals.
If you are selected, your scheduled shifts continue but rather than reporting to your Employer for duties, you’ll work with OPSEU/SEFPO for the duration of the book off. Your wages will continue to be paid by the Employer, uninterrupted. Your Employer then invoices the Union for all wages and all wage-related costs for the duration of time you are doing work as part of the book off.
We are looking to build worker power to make gains for boards of education workers, families, and students and want you to join the team!
