OHaH members were engaged and full of energy as they gathered for their inaugural Bargaining Conference this week.
Delegates from across the province were in Ottawa on June 11 and 12 to chart their path forward, establish a negotiating setup, elect a member of their provincial labour management committee and elect their first ever bargaining team.
Over the course of two days, delegates heard from OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick, First Vice-President/Treasurer Laurie Nancekivell, and OPSEU/SEFPO staff who provided information on the bargaining landscape, process and the importance of building member solidarity.
On the heels of the largest geographical PSLRTA in Ontario history, delegates were ready to put their ideas into motion as they proceed with their first ever bargaining round as a united group.
The newly elected bargaining team is backed by a strong group of workers, ready to face the ongoing challenges of government underfunding and a forced return-to-office mandate.
Delegates have a team prepared to tackle these challenges and many others head-on.
Many thanks to all members who stood for positions in elections and to their nominators.
