OPSEU/SEFPO has formally filed a policy grievance to address the ongoing and unacceptable delays our members are experiencing with Manulife’s claim processing.
We have continued to consistently hear from members who are facing prolonged wait times, poor communication, and significant stress due to these delays. These issues are affecting financial stability, access to benefits, and overall well‑being. Filing this policy grievance is an important step toward holding the Employer and Manulife accountable and ensuring timely, fair, and transparent claims processing.
What members can do
To strengthen our advocacy, we encourage members who are experiencing ongoing claim issues or delays to email their complaints and details to do the following:
- Contact us directly: Please email your concerns to [email protected]. The more members who come forward, the better we can demonstrate the scope and impact of the problem.
- Keep a record of timelines: Note when each claim was submitted and when reimbursement was ultimately received.
- Document all contact with Manulife: This includes each phone call, wait times, and the time spent attempting to resolve the issue.
- Note any escalations: Indicate whether the matter was escalated to a supervisor, and whether promised follow-ups or call-backs occurred.
- Share relevant documentation: Providing us with the records listed above will help us effectively address these ongoing concerns.
Your experiences are essential to demonstrating the seriousness of this issue and supporting our efforts to secure meaningful solutions.
