Please allow me this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Kathy Whipple, your new Sector 3 Boards of Education and Cultural Institutions Chair. It is a pleasure to have been appointed to the position of Chair for the remainder of this term. I consider myself fortunate to have been given this opportunity during this vital time of Central Bargaining and BPS Conference planning.
The position of Chair offers new and exciting challenges to me, all of which I'm looking forward to. Prior to becoming Sector 3 Chair I was elected secretary of Sector 3 for three consecutive terms and was member at large during my initial year as an executive member. I am currently the president of Local 614, Chair of Sudbury Area Council and sit on numerous OPSEU committees.
I look forward to working in this new position where my responsibilities will include Central Bargaining as an OPSEU delegate on the Ontario Council of Education Workers, increasing communication between the Sector and its Locals, attending and participating in BPS All Chairs meetings and assisting in the organization of the BPS conference for our Sector.
I am thrilled to continue working with the dedicated executive of the Boards of Education and Cultural Institutions Sector and look forward to learning more about all the locals within Sector 3.
In solidarity,
Kathy Whipple
