The start of anything new is a good time to get things right and to wish for a better future. OPSEU hopes that during what has been a hard and stressful year for many because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can all stand together and wish Jews a happy, healthy, and sweet New Year.

Friday, September 18 is the start of another year for Jews around the world. Rosh Hashanah, which means “head of the year” marks the beginning of the Days of Awe or the Jewish High Holy Days and lasts for a 10-day period that culminates with Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year. On Rosh Hashanah, Jews from all over the world celebrate God’s creation of the world and focus their attention on reflection and repentance.
