Call on management at Central West Specialized Developmental Services to return individuals in care to their homes and end the strike now
More than 240 OPSEU/SEFPO members at Central West Specialized Developmental Services (CWSDS), who provide high-quality care to residents with developmental disabilities, are on strike after management created an untenable situation for clients, their families and workers.

CWSDS Management is jeopardizing the safety of workers and the people they support by refusing to bargain meaningfully for a fair deal. Instead, prior to the strike, they forcibly relocated individuals from their group homes without the consent of their families to a crowded, centralized facility where residents are unable to access the support they need. Families and workers are deeply concerned about the safety and wellbeing of residents who are being held in this dangerous temporary situation. This needs to end.
Join us in calling on management and CWSDS CEO Patricia Kyle to return individuals to their homes NOW and end unsafe conditions. Workers want to get back to doing what they do best – providing high quality services and care. Send a message now to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Send an email to the CEO and Board of Directors to call for a deal that:
- Gets the people we support back to their group homes.
- Restores working conditions.
- Reverses reprisals and suspensions against staff, which have been used to intimidate workers.
- Ensures fair wage increases for staff.
- While workers struggle to keep up with cost of living, CWSDS’s CEO received a 10% wage increase last year, and professional consultant fees skyrocketed to over $3 million.
