(HAMILTON) – Correctional officers from across Ontario will rally Aug. 23 on the grounds outside the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre in a show of support for more than 200 officers at the facility who are in a prolonged dispute with management over proposed disciplinary measures.
(HAMILTON) – Negotiations over a return-to-work protocol at Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre have stalled over management’s demand that correctional officers be disciplined and absorb a ‘no work, no pay’ penalty while the affected workers refuse to perform their duties citing safety issues.

(TORONTO) – Correctional officers at Toronto West Detention Centre have planned a three-hour information picket Aug. 16 to protest the unjust dismissal of Dan Marshall, president of Local 517 represented by the Ontario Public Service Union, and two others at the facility.
