On August 8, 2017, a patient at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care came out of the shower swinging. He knocked one nurse unconscious and hit two others in the head, sending all three workers to hospital. Two nurses have black eyes and contusions around their face.

Cobourg – All registered nurses and registered practical nurses with Saint Elizabeth Health Care in Northumberland County are now members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), with a vote of 91 per cent in favour.

Peterborough – Some 50 registered nurses and registered practical nurses working at We Care Home Health Services in Peterborough have voted overwhelmingly in favour of becoming members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU).
