OPSEU represents many thousands of members working in the province’s 24 colleges of applied arts and technology. They are divided among three divisions, with each division having its own collective agreement: College Faculty (CAAT-A), College Support Full-Time (CAAT-S) and Support Staff Part-Time.

Ontario College Faculty (CAAT-A) are some 14,000 full-time professors, counsellors, librarians and instructors employed by Ontario’s public colleges. They joined OPSEU in 1971.

Full-time college support (CAAT-S) have been OPSEU members since 1968. They perform a wide variety of functions that support students and staff of Ontario’s public colleges network.

Following the largest union organizing drive in Canadian history, in 2018 roughly 20,000 college part-time support staff became members of OPSEU. They perform a wide variety of functions that support students and staff of Ontario’s public colleges network.
