Toronto – Thousands of part-time and sessional faculty at Ontario’s 24 public colleges begin casting ballots today in a representation vote on choosing the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) as their bargaining agent.

Toronto – The conciliator in contract negotiations between Ontario’s public colleges and their unionized faculty has confirmed October 15 at 12:01 a.m. as the time a legal strike or lockout could begin at all 24 public colleges in the province.

In the event of a strike or lockout, OPSEU members in the colleges will receive strike pay from the union by direct deposit to their personal bank or credit union accounts. In order to process strike pay, the union needs updated dependent information and direct deposit information.

Employer still refuses to discuss faculty issues


Setting a strike deadline has resulted in the Colleges asking for a vote on their offer.  This was something that the Union had been seeking since November 12th.
