TORONTO -Management for Ontario’s community colleges are welcome to call a vote on their “final offer” anytime they wish, says the union representing 10,000 faculty members across the province.

Talks Continue

Immediately after compiling the strike vote results on January 13th , the union contacted the mediator to advise him of those results and ask him to pursue further bargaining dates.  The Colleges agreed to meet beginning on Tuesday, January 19th.

On January 13, College faculty voted to support a strike mandate.  Eighteen of the 24 colleges and 57% of the voters supported the negotiating team.  While this is less overall than the last strike mandate, under the circumstances it is a clear vote of support.

TORONTO - In a show of province-wide support, community college faculty have given their bargaining team a strike mandate in a move that tells management it’s time to negotiate seriously.
