Some 800 delegates to the OPSEU Broader Public Service conference on June 23-25 held elections for their divisional executives. The following members were elected for a two-year term:

With more than 800 delegates, alternates and observers looking on, OPSEU leaders today officially opened the 25th anniversary conference of the Broader Public Service (BPS) in Toronto, saying the sector has enjoyed a phenomenal past and a future that promises to be even better.

Community Services Divisional Council chair Deborah Gordon presented OPSEU’s submission on Bill 89, an Act to enact the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, to the Standing Committee on Justice Policy today.

On Tuesday, social services workers from across the province came together for a lobby day at Queen’s Park. The members of the OPSEU Community Services Divisional Council (CSDC) had one key message for MPPs: stop treating social services like the poor cousin of health and education.
