TSSA safety inspectors #StrikeforSafety makes headlines across Ontario

Strike for safety

OPSEU/SEFPO Local 546 TSSA safety inspectors made headlines across Ontario this week as the first week of the #StrikeForSafety kicked off!

Bargaining team member Doug Diehl was interviewed by CTV London at the Nestle picket on Wednesday: “Inspectors want to get back to work. [We] want TSSA to come back to the table, and we want to negotiate a fair deal to keep everybody safe.”

CityNews and CBC Toronto both reported on the strike and Politico’s popular daily morning newsletter read by some of Ottawa’s most influential policymakers highlighted the TSSA’s safety inspectors’ strike.

And finally, the premier publication on occupational health and safety in Canada, Canadian Occupational Safety, quoted OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick in their article: “it is unconscionable that the TSSA is willing to compromise the public safety of all Ontarians rather than provide safety inspectors with fair working conditions.” You can read their full coverage here.
