In honour of Administrative Professionals’ Day – and on behalf of OPSEU’s entire Executive Board – I would like to take this opportunity to extend my warmest thanks and gratitude to the thousands of OPSEU members, and all administrative professionals in Ontario who keep the wheels turning in our workplaces.
Administrative professionals are at the heart of the Ontario Public Service, and across the Broader Public Service; in our health care system, our colleges, and our community and social service agencies, just to name a few.
But no matter where they work, administrative professionals are the backbone of our offices. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – administrative professionals are the oil that keeps our offices running smoothly.
More often than not, they are the public face of the public service. They are the gatekeepers to the records and files that document our lives, and it is their warmth, resourcefulness, and professionalism that ensures the public is well served.
That’s why today is so important. Administrative professionals probably don’t hear it enough, so thank you – today, and every day.
