Thunder Bay-area Community Health Care workers join OPSEU/SEFPO

More than 100 Community Health Care Professionals and Administrative Staff in Thunder Bay, Armstrong, and Longlac have voted to join OPSEU/SEFPO, earning them glowing coverage in TBnewsWatch.com.

OPSEU/SEFPO Executive Board Member Ken Maclam told TBNewsWatch that he expects the workers will benefit significantly from the experience the union has had in other workplaces in resolving health, safety and training issues.

The new members work at all three locations of the NorWest Community Health Centres (NWCHC), which is part of a network of provincial community health centres that are community based non-profit organizations funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.

They work as Nurse Practitioners, RNs, RPNs, Therapists, Psychologists, Chiropodists and other Health Care Professionals and Administrative staff.

By joining OPSEU/SEFPO, the new members join with roughly 4,000 other Community Health Professionals across the province.
