Thomas scolds corrections minister at Queen’s Park

OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas and First Vice-President/Treasurer Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida, corrections division leaders and a large number of correctional workers came to Queen’s Park on March 28, 2019, to meet with MPPs of all political stripes to discuss the crisis in corrections.

The lobby day began with a breakfast in the legislature’s dining-room, at which the President took on Community Safety and Correctional Services Minister Sylvia Jones for her inaction on solving the Crisis in Corrections. He also took previous governments to task as well as management in the corrections ministry.
