Thomas congratulates Molson Coors workers on new contract

Collective Agreement Ratified - OPSEU in solidarity with Molson Coors

OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas released the following statement after news that members of Canadian Union of Brewery and General Workers (CUBGW) Local 325 had ratified a new collective agreement on February 26. Workers at the company’s Etobicoke plant went on strike January 12.

Congratulations to the workers of CUBGW Local 325 on ratifying a new collective agreement with Molson Coors. I also want to congratulate you on your perseverance on the picket line. You stood up for decent work, and you won! Thank you as well to all OPSEU members who helped by boycotting Molson Coors products – solidarity is crucial, now more than ever. While the boycott of union-made Canadian Molson Coors beer is lifted, please continue avoiding non-union American-made products (Coors Banquet, MGD, and Miller Lite).

In solidarity,

Warren (Smokey) Thomas
