Terminated CLASS employees returning to work

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/SEFPO) is thrilled to announce that the three developmental service workers terminated from their jobs by the Community Living Association for South Simcoe (CLASS) in Alliston, Ontario will be returning to work.

“These workers care deeply about the important work they do supporting some of the most vulnerable people, and we are elated that they will be returning to their jobs,” said OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick. “They received incredible support, dedication and advocacy from their community, other OPSEU/SEFPO members and labour allies, and we are thankful to everyone who rallied behind them.”

“We’re proud to come together and we always have each other’s backs.” said OPSEU/SEFPO First Vice-President/Treasurer Laurie Nancekivell. “When we get organised and make a collective effort, we can achieve incredible outcomes for all our members.”

OPSEU/SEFPO remains committed to making health and safety a top priority for all workers in Ontario. The union will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that workers are treated fairly in safe workplaces.
