The federal government has moved to shut down hearings at the Committee on International Trade on the legislation to implement the Canada-Colombia free trade deal.
The Committee has yet to hear from a long list of expert witnesses – including OPSEU and NUPGE – and many others who know what is really happening in Colombia on human rights abuses and attacks on trade unionists.
Hold Members of Parliament to account. Help us make sure this motion by Conservative MP Gerald Keddy is defeated tomorrow by sending this email to Liberal members of the Committee who might be inclined to vote to shut down hearings and prevent a real debate about the human rights situation in Colombia
