The following message is from the Coalition of Racialized Workers

We are shocked and saddened to hear of the devastating terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, which have claimed the lives of more than 310 people and many hundreds more injured.

We condemn in the strongest terms this cowardly act of terrorism.

St. Anthony’s church in Colombo which is over 200 years old holds a special place in the hearts of many OPSEU members.

As Sri Lanka mourns this atrocity against its people, we the members of the Coalition of Racialized Workers wish to extend heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of the victims in Sri Lanka, here at home and abroad.  We extend our prayers and stand in solidarity with our OPSEU brothers and sisters of Sri Lankan origin who have been affected by this cowardly terrorist act.

We remind OPSEU members of the services and supports available to them through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), community groups and any other formal or informal supports.
