In a vote held November 19, full-time employees of the Student Association of George Brown College voted unanimously to join OPSEU.
Staff of the association serve 75,000 students at George Brown. They deliver services to students, coordinate programming, and work to build a community on campus that helps ensure students have the best possible college experience.
The new OPSEU members became interested in OPSEU as a result of the campaign to organize non-union workers across the community college system.
“I want to congratulate our newest members on choosing OPSEU,” said OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas. “Our goal is to represent all frontline workers in the college community, and we are well on our way.”
