Solidarity Days: Standing up for workers at Community Living South Muskoka!

OPSEU/SEFPO and CUPE members working at Community Living South Muskoka are in bargaining right now.  Beyond just a fair contract, these workers are standing up to protect the services they provide in their communities because they know they’re worth fighting for.

These workers support adults and youth in the community who have intellectual and physical disabilities. They make an immense difference in the lives of the individuals and families they work with.

Yet they are overworked, underpaid and pushed into poverty. To meet demand and get by, ‘part-time’ workers are working full-time hours and overtime continues to overflow. This is because developmental services are chronically underfunded and have been neglected by government after government.

To build power at the bargaining table and build momentum to fight for increased funding for these services CUPE and OPSEU/SEFPO coordinated conciliation dates and organized solidarity events to support their bargaining teams and build morale.
