Seeking stability and a voice in the workplace, the Rehabilitation Therapists at St. Joseph’s Health Care London have voted to join OPSEU.

“It’s not easy being a hospital professional these days,” said OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas. “While the Ford government cooks up its secretive and expensive plans to completely overhaul the system, hallway health care just keeps getting worse.

“I can understand why these hospital professionals wanted to join a strong union like OPSEU, and I’m very glad they did.”

The Rehabilitation Therapists join a number of other St. Joseph’s Health Care London workers who belong to OPSEU.

OPSEU Region 1 Regional Vice-President Laurie Nancekivell welcomed the new members to the union, and encouraged them all to get involved.

“Congratulations and welcome home,” said Nancekivell. “In OPSEU, you’ve joined 25,000 other hospital professionals – and 140,000 other public sector workers – across the province who care deeply about the people they help.

“All of our voices together means a powerful voice in your workplace, and a powerful voice in health care.”
