Online Region 3 Stewards One Course will be offered on two dates:
Where: Virtually via Zoom
When: Saturday, March 23, 2024: 9:00am – 3:30pm (30 min. lunch)
OR
Saturday, April 13, 2024: 9:00am – 3:30pm (30 min. lunch)
**Please note: You must attend the full day in order to receive the certificate of completion. Wages will not be paid by OPSEU to attend this event.

Thursday, March 28th at 4:30pm for April 13th course
The key aims are to strengthen steward skills to orient a NEW employee to the union, have effective one-on-one conversations with a cross-section of members, develop a communications strategy to enlist diverse member involvement, and develop approaches to everyday workplace problems. Throughout the course, participants are supported as they develop a profile of their members, clarify the tasks of the steward, find resources and information in OPSEU/SEFPO, and understand the grievance process and their role in it. If you have previously taken Stewards 1 or Stewards Orientation, please do not apply for this course.
Spaces will be filled on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Interested members should apply themselves so that correct contact information can be confirmed. Receipt of each application will be confirmed and more detailed information will be available closer to course date. If accepted into a course, you will be notified at least one week prior. Electronic materials will be emailed prior to the course start date.
