Workers at the Peterborough County-City Health Unit (PCCHU) have ratified a new collective agreement with their employer, more than 16 months after their previous contract expired.
The new three-year deal for about 20 members of OPSEU Local 327 also calls for a 2.25 per cent wage increase over the course of the contract, plus a $700 lump sum payment. The workers will also benefit from a wage increase if other unions negotiate a higher wage settlement during the course of the contract.
Other highlights of the deal include five paid equity days off and a no layoff clause before March 2015. A $200 allowance is in place if work clothing is damaged.
The workers at PCCHU include nutritionists, health promoters, infant development workers and dental hygienists.
