It’s impossible to overstate the importance that Personal Support Workers play in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Ontarians.

PSWs visit homes, work in hospitals, long-term care homes, group homes and retirement homes.

They are deeply committed to providing personalized and compassionate care to Ontarians in need.

They are on the clock 24 hours a day, seven days a week doing everything from bathing to meal preparation to escorting people to appointments.

May 19 marks Personal Support Worker Day, a time to recognize the vital work PSWs do day in and day out to allow countless Ontario residents to keep independence and reduce strain on institutionalized care.

OPSEU is proud to represent several thousand of these exceptional professionals and we continue to welcome more of them to our family.

For example last month, Personal and Home Support Workers at SE Health in Clarington voted to join OPSEU, We hope the number of PSW in our ranks will continue to grow.

Let us salute the incredible service these exceptional people provide.
