On Day 3 of OPSEU/SEFPO’s Convention 2025, the energy inside the Metro Toronto Convention Centre spilled out into the streets. Hundreds of OPSEU/SEFPO members gathered outside the Centre and marched down Front Street to Bay Street, bringing a clear and powerful message straight to the doorstep of Brookfield Asset Management: public services are a value to us all – and they must be funded robustly.

The rally outside Brookfield’s offices was a strong show of solidarity and determination. Brookfield, a giant in private asset management, has been at the center of growing concerns about the privatization of public services. OPSEU/SEFPO members made it clear that they are ready to fight back against corporate greed and government policies that erode the public good. With chants echoing off the skyscrapers and picket signs held high, the march and rally demonstrated the collective power of workers standing up for their communities. Public services are not for sale – and OPSEU/SEFPO is committed to defending them.
