On Thursday, February 20, ambulance and communications officers with Local 462 in Kingston passed a motion at their general members’ meeting to deliver $500 in Subway sandwiches to striking members of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA), the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO).
The next day, they delivered the food and walked the picket lines with teachers in a strong show of solidarity.
