OPSEU/SEFPO Sector 20 members at Lactanet (formerly Ontario Dairy Herd Improvement Corporation) opened up the year with a new 3-year collective agreement.

Between January 23 and 24, 2023, members voted to ratify the proposed tentative agreement, and with 90.3% in favour of accepting the negotiated terms, took home a contract with healthy gains to wages and benefits.

The new agreement provides wage increases to Lab and Office, and Field classifications, bringing in a total three-year jump of 8 per cent and 7.5 per cent, respectively. OPSEU/SEFPO Lactanet members will also see a range of benefit improvements applicable to internet and cellphone provisions, allowances for footwear and clothing cleaning, increases to optional service incentives, as well as considerable health benefit increases for physical and mental care.

“Congratulations to OPSEU/SEFPO members at Lactanet on your new collective agreement,” said OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick. “By standing together as one voice with your Bargaining Team, you have achieved gains that will result in a healthier, more equitable workplace.”
